VMware Exam 5V0-21.21 Topic 5 Question 55 Discussion

Actual exam question for VMware's 5V0-21.21 exam
Question #: 55
Topic #: 5
[All 5V0-21.21 Questions]

An organization has two vSAN clusters managed by the same vCenter server, each providing 100 TB of storage. The first cluster runs at 75% of its storage capacity, and the second cluster runs at 40% of its storage capacity.

The company also has the following:

* an iSCSI array of 300 TB, which runs at 76% of its capacity

* a NAS system of 200 TB, which runs at 10% of its capacity

* a Fiber channel (FC) array of 300 TB, which runs at 80% of its capacity

The administrator is asked to add an additional 25 TB of storage to the first cluster but is also made aware that there is no budget to purchase new hardware and that the vSAN Storage Policy Based Management must be kept in place.

Which storage option will work for this use case?

Ah, good point. In that case, I think the HCI Mesh option might be the way to go. It can integrate with the existing vSAN clusters without breaking the policy.

Hold on, what about the requirement to keep the vSAN Storage Policy Based Management in place? That might rule out the NAS option.

I'm leaning towards using the NAS system to get that additional 25 TB of storage. It's only using 10% of its capacity, so that seems like the best fit.

What about the other storage arrays? The iSCSI array is at 76%, the NAS is at 10%, and the FC array is at 80%. Those might be worth looking into as well.

Okay, let's think through this step-by-step. The first cluster is at 75% capacity, so we have some room there. The second cluster is at 40%, so that's another potential option.

Hmm, this is an interesting question. I'm curious to see how we can approach this storage challenge without additional budget.
