The real question is, can Velero and Restic also back up the administrator's coffee stash? That's the true test of a backup solution.

I'm going with B and E. Velero and Restic seem like a solid combo, and the vSphere plugin should make it easier to integrate everything.

A? Really? VMware vCenter is for managing the vSphere environment, not for backups. I hope the other candidates aren't as confused as I am.

I'm not sure about C and D, but E looks promising. The Velero Plugin for vSphere could be a good fit for this scenario.

Option B seems like the way to go. Standalone Velero and Restic should be able to handle the backup requirements for the Supervisor cluster, vSphere Pods, and persistent volumes.

I agree, using Standalone Velero and Restic would be a good choice for backing up those components.

I'm not sure about the Velero Plugin. Maybe we should consider Standalone Velero and Restic instead.
