VMware Exam 2V0-11.25 Topic 4 Question 4 Discussion

Actual exam question for VMware's 2V0-11.25 exam
Question #: 4
Topic #: 4
[All 2V0-11.25 Questions]

An administrator has deployed a new VMware Cloud Builder appliance using the downloaded OVF file. While attempting to use the VMware Cloud Builder interface, the administrator discovers that no connection can be established to the appliance.

Which three configuration errors may have occurred? (Choose three.)

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A, B, D

A VLAN misconfiguration could prevent proper network connectivity, particularly if the appliance is not in the correct VLAN or if there is a misalignment in network segmentation.

Incorrect DNS settings or inaccessible DNS servers can prevent the VMware Cloud Builder appliance from being able to resolve hostnames, leading to connection issues.

Incorrect Static IP configuration would result in the appliance being unreachable because it won't have the correct IP address or network configuration to communicate with other components.

I believe incorrect Static IP configuration might be causing the issue.

This is why we have checklists, folks. VLAN, DNS, and NTP - the holy trinity of connectivity issues. The admin should have known better than to trust their memory on this one.

Hmm, let's see... VLAN, DNS, and NTP. Classic mistakes, but at least it's not something complicated like a BGP routing issue. The admin must be feeling a bit sheepish right now.

Gianna: Yeah, that's a common mistake. Check the DNS and NTP settings too.

Definitely D and F - you can't establish a connection without the right IP configuration. And BGP? Really? What is this, an advanced networking exam?

VLAN, DNS, and NTP - those are the classic culprits. I bet the admin is kicking themselves for not triple-checking those settings.
