Option C looks interesting - creating a dedicated OmniScript to update contact data and invoking it from other OmniScripts. That could be a clean and modular approach. I'll make sure to consider that as well.

Okay, I've got a strategy for this. I'll use the Lookup, Row, and Field functions to check if there's a row in the related data extension for the current subscriber. If there is, I'll use that data to render the unique content. If not, I'll render the default content. Option B seems like the best choice here.

Okay, let's see. Symmetric key block cipher... that rules out SSH and PGP. I'm pretty sure DES is the way to go here, it fits the requirements perfectly.
