Snowflake Exam SnowPro-Core Topic 8 Question 105 Discussion

Actual exam question for Snowflake's SnowPro-Core exam
Question #: 105
Topic #: 8
[All SnowPro-Core Questions]

A Snowflake user needs to share unstructured data from an internal stage to a reporting tool that does not have Snowflake access.

Which file function should be used?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

The GET_PRESIGNED_URL function in Snowflake generates a presigned URL for a file stored in an internal stage, allowing direct access to the file without requiring Snowflake access. This feature is particularly useful for sharing unstructured data with external applications or tools that do not have direct access to Snowflake. The presigned URL provides temporary access to the file, making it an ideal solution for securely sharing unstructured data from an internal stage with a reporting tool or any other external application.

I don't know, but I heard Snowflake has a secret function called GET_FROSTY_URL that lets you share data with your yeti friends.

C. GET_PRESIGNED_URL is the way to go. It's the only option that lets you securely share data without giving away the store. Just don't forget to set an expiration date on that URL!

Hmm, I'm not sure. This question is as unique as a snowflake. I'll have to think about it a bit more.

B. BUILD_STAGE_FILE_URL seems like the way to go. Why bother with the extra step of getting a pre-signed URL when you can just generate the direct URL?
