Actual exam question for Scrum's PSD exam
Question #: 70
Topic #: 3
[All PSD Questions]

Which phrase best describes a product owner?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

You can't really say anything because you don't know what the unit tests are testing and whether they are correctly representing whether the application is working correctly. However, if all the tests passes you didn't break any already existing tests. Also, if none tests existed yet, you did not break them.

I’m surprised people think they’re just team managers.

I recall that the product owner is supposed to prioritize requirements, so "requirements engineer" might be close, but it doesn't feel quite right.

I feel like the product owner does some project management tasks, but I don't think they are the project manager.

I remember practicing a question about the role of a product owner, and I think they focus on maximizing value, so maybe "value optimizer" is the right choice?

I feel pretty confident about this one. Based on my understanding, the product owner is responsible for representing the customer's needs and ensuring the development team delivers value. I'll go with option D.

"Value optimizer" - that's an interesting way to think about the product owner's job. I'll have to consider how that fits with the other options presented.

The "mediator for the developers and customers" option sounds promising. That seems to capture the product owner's role in bridging the gap between the development team and the end users.

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure about the difference between a team manager and a project manager. I'll have to think this through to determine the unique responsibilities of a product owner.

The product owner is like a superhero, able to leap tall user stories in a single bound! D is the correct answer, no doubt.

I was torn between C and D, but I'm going with D. The product owner needs to be a skilled communicator to bridge the gap between the technical team and the customer.

A team manager? Really? That's just a bad joke. The product owner is definitely not a team manager, they have a much more strategic role.
