We have 1 intercept, 1 for x1, 3 for the categorical levels, and 2 for the interaction.

I practiced a similar question where we had to count parameters, and I think it was about 6 or 7 total, including the interaction.

If I recall correctly, the categorical variable has 3 levels, so we might need to subtract one for the reference level, right?

I'm not entirely sure, but I remember something about interaction terms adding complexity. Does that mean we add more parameters?

I think we have to count the intercept plus the number of levels in the categorical variable and the continuous variable.
