Suspend and Resume represent temporary operational state changes that preserve the underlying service relationship, so they typically require explicit lifecycle handling beyond the basic Add/Modify/Disconnect patterns. The solution must define how those actions map to downstream provisioning, billing, assurance, orchestration conditions, and asset/technical-inventory state so that the service can later resume without being recreated as a new commercial product. This is the decisive architectural point in this scenario because the Salesforce Industries model separates commercial selling concerns from fulfillment, lifecycle, and integration concerns. Treating suspension as a normal Disconnect loses the temporary-state semantics. The business process should therefore be modeled deliberately across CPQ, Order Management, and downstream integrations. Using the standard capability also keeps the design supportable across releases, reduces unnecessary custom code, and makes operational behavior easier to trace during troubleshooting. From an implementation perspective, the configuration should be tested with representative product structures and transaction volumes so that rules, mappings, and downstream dependencies behave exactly as intended. The resulting design is therefore both functionally correct and aligned with the managed Communications Cloud operating model.
