Option D is the way to go, no doubt about it. Though I do have to wonder, who came up with this 'Open-Review' status name? Sounds like something straight out of a '90s office management software.
I'm going to have to go with D as well. It's the only option that mentions configuring the status to be applied to the correct application, which is key to satisfying the request.
Option B is definitely not the way to go. Adding the Open-Review status to the Application record would just create a separate status that wouldn't be applied to the assignments. Gotta go with D on this one.
