I bet the 'sendmail' daemon is sitting there, sipping its coffee, ignoring my desperate attempts to communicate. Typical sendmail, always playing hard to get.

Well, well, look at that. 'sendmail' is just chilling, listening to local requests only. Guess it's not in the mood for making new friends today.

Ah, the old 'sendmail' issue. I should have known it wouldn't be accessible from the get-go. At least it's not running on some obscure encrypted port, that would be just cruel.

I'm not sure, but I think it could also be C) By default, 'sendmail' access is blocked by TCP Wrappers. That could be causing the communication issue.

I agree with Lajuana, that makes sense. The 'sendmail' service needs to be enabled for it to communicate.

Hmm, I was expecting 'sendmail' to be enabled by default, but I guess that's not the case. I'll have to remember to manually enable it if I need it.

Ah, I see. The default Oracle Solaris 11 installation doesn't include the 'sendmail' software, so that's why I can't communicate with it from my desktop. Good to know!
