Topic #: 4
[All 1Z0-1093-25 Questions]

Which two statements are true about the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Monitoring tools available for Base Database Service Virtual Machine DB Systems?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C, D

Oracle Cloud Agent Capabilities (C):

The Oracle Cloud Agent collects a wide range of metrics, including OS-level, VM, and database performance metrics. These metrics are integrated with the OCI Monitoring service, where users can view them in customizable charts and dashboards.

Alarms and Notifications (D):

The OCI Monitoring service enables users to set alarms that trigger when certain thresholds are exceeded. Notifications are sent via the OCI Notifications service, providing proactive monitoring and alerting.

Why the other options are incorrect:

A: Users can use custom metrics alongside Oracle Cloud Agent metrics.

B: Customers are allowed to install additional monitoring agents if needed.

E: Performance data can be integrated with OCI monitoring tools, not limited to Enterprise Manager.

E is a bit of a head-scratcher. Why would the database performance events be locked away in Enterprise Manager? Sounds like a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Oh well, as long as I can get the job done, I'm happy.

B is definitely wrong. I can't imagine Oracle would prohibit us from using our own monitoring agents. That would be like taking away our toolbox and expecting us to fix the car with our bare hands.

Haha, I bet the developers at Oracle had a field day coming up with all these monitoring options. It's like they're giving us a buffet of metrics to choose from. As long as I can get my database running smoothly, I don't care how many tools I have to use.

A) Only Oracle Cloud Agent metrics can be used for metric data charting, alarming, and notifications. OS metrics can only be collected.

I'm not sure about statement E. It seems like a limitation if DB system performance events cannot be integrated with OCI monitoring tools.

I think C and D are the correct answers. The Oracle Cloud Agent is a powerful tool that collects a wide range of metrics, and the OCI Monitoring service allows us to create custom alarms and notifications. This gives us a lot of flexibility in monitoring our database systems.

It's also great that we can define alarms based on metric thresholds and receive notifications through the OCI Notifications service.
