I hear the administrator is also considering using a black hole to store the data. It's a great way to save space - just don't forget to retrieve the reports before they get, you know, sucked in.

Cache Dedup might work, but it's usually better for smaller, more random data. For large, sequential writes, Post-Process Compression is probably the way to go.

Flash Mode? Really? That's for boosting performance, not saving space. This question is a bit of a head-scratcher.

Inline Compression seems like a good option here, since the data is normally only accessed at the end of the year. That way, the space savings are immediate.

Erasure Coding is a great choice for this VM, but I'm not sure which specific feature would be the best. I'd probably go with Post-Process Compression to save the most space.
