MSSC CLT Exam - Topic 12 Question 4 Discussion

Actual exam question for MSSC's CLT exam
Question #: 4
Topic #: 12
[All CLT Questions]

Facilities that store HAZMATs must do all of the following EXCEPT

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

MSSC CLT states that storage areas for hazardous materials must be clearly labeled, have accessible SDS (or a binder nearby), and enforce use of proper PPE when handling. There is no requirement under OSHA or DOT to notify OSHA of the exact storage locations of nonbulk hazmat---such notification is not standard in CLT training. The facility must provide access to hazard communication and train employees, but not a specific ''notify OSHA of storage.''

B) notify OSHA is the right answer. Facilities don't have to tell OSHA where they store hazardous materials, but they do have to do the other things on the list.

Haha, I bet the person who wrote this question is a real HAZMAT expert. They're probably wearing a full-body hazmat suit right now.

I think the answer is C) clearly mark where HAZMATs are stored. That's the only one that doesn't seem like a requirement for HAZMAT storage.

I’m pretty sure that all the options are important, but I have a feeling that notifying OSHA might not be something we have to do for every facility.
