The oplog (operations log) is a special capped collection that keeps a rolling record of all operations that modify the data stored in your databases. All the replica set members contain a copy of the oplog in the following collection:
I'm pretty confident that the oplog is in a collection called oplog.rs, but I can't remember if it's just that or if it has to include the database name.
I remember practicing a question about replica sets, and I think the correct answer was local.oplog.rs, but I could be mixing it up with something else.
This seems like a straightforward question about managing risk assessment bias. I'd focus on evaluating and documenting the bias, then communicating it to management.
Option A seems right to me. The oplog has to be specific to each replica set, so it makes sense that it would have the replica set ID in the collection name.
