When provisioning an Azure Cosmos DB account, which feature provides redundancy within an Azure region?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

With Availability Zone (AZ) support, Azure Cosmos DB will ensure replicas are placed across multiple zones within a given region to provide high availability and resiliency to zonal failures.

Note: Azure Cosmos DB provides high availability in two primary ways. First, Azure Cosmos DB replicates data across regions configured within a Cosmos account. Second, Azure Cosmos DB maintains 4 replicas of data within a region.

I thought multi-master replication was the answer, but I guess not!

Strong consistency level doesn't provide redundancy, just guarantees.

Wait, isn't automatic failover also important for redundancy?

It's definitely Availability Zones that provide redundancy.

I remember the strong consistency level being more about data consistency rather than redundancy. I think it's not the right choice here.

Automatic failover sounds familiar, but I can't recall if it directly relates to redundancy in the same way as Availability Zones do.

I feel like multi-master replication was mentioned in a similar question, but I don't think it specifically addresses redundancy within a region.

I think it might be Availability Zones, but I'm not entirely sure. I remember studying about them providing redundancy.

I'm pretty confident I know the answer to this one. ISO 27002 is a structured framework that helps companies with security and compliance, so I'll go with option A.

Hmm, I'm not too familiar with the different WFM reports. I'll have to think this through carefully and consider each option before making a decision.
