Microsoft Exam AZ-700 Topic 4 Question 66 Discussion

Actual exam question for Microsoft's AZ-700 exam
Question #: 66
Topic #: 4
[All AZ-700 Questions]

You have an on-premises DNS server named Server1 that hosts a primary DNS zone named fabrikam.com.

You have an Azure subscription that contains the resources shown in the following table.

Users on the on-premises network access resources on all the virtual networks by using a Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN. You need to deploy an Azure DNS Private Resolver solution that meets the following requirements:

* Resources connected to the virtual networks must be able to resolve DNS names for fabrikam.com.

* Server1 must be able to resolve the DNS names of the resources in contoso.com.

* The solution must minimize costs and administrative effort.

What is the minimum number of resolvers you should deploy?

Hah, 4 resolvers? That's like having a whole army of DNS resolvers, just to handle a few virtual networks. I think 2 or 3 would be the sweet spot here, but I'm curious to see what the correct answer is.

I'm leaning towards 3 resolvers. That way we can have one for each domain, plus an extra one to handle the VPN connections and minimize costs. Although, I do wonder if a fourth resolver would be overkill in this scenario.

I believe 3 resolvers should be enough to meet the requirements and minimize costs.

I agree, having one resolver for each domain and an extra one for VPN connections sounds like a good plan.

I think 3 resolvers would be the best option to cover all the domains and VPN connections.

Alright, let's think this through. We need to connect Server1 to contoso.com and the other virtual networks to fabrikam.com. Sounds like we might need at least two resolvers to handle that.

Hmm, this seems like a tricky one. I'm wondering if deploying just one resolver would be enough to meet all the requirements, or if we'd need more to handle the cross-domain resolution needs.

I believe deploying two resolvers might be a safer option to ensure cross-domain resolution needs are met.

I'm not sure, but I think deploying 3 resolvers might provide redundancy in case one fails.

I agree with Bulah. Deploying 2 resolvers would meet the requirements and minimize costs.

I think the answer is B) 2 because we need one resolver for each virtual network.
