Which of the following statements pertaining to link encryption is false?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

When using link encryption, packets have to be decrypted at each hop and encrypted again.

Information staying encrypted from one end of its journey to the other is a characteristic of end-to-end encryption, not link encryption.

Link Encryption vs. End-to-End Encryption

Link encryption encrypts the entire packet, including headers and trailers, and has to be decrypted at each hop.

End-to-end encryption does not encrypt the IP Protocol headers, and therefore does not need to be decrypted at each hop.

I’m leaning towards option B being false, as I thought link encryption only protects data in transit, not necessarily against all types of attacks.

I feel like option D could be tricky since it mentions user information and headers, but I can't recall if those are always encrypted in link encryption.

I think link encryption encrypts everything along the path, but I'm not sure if it includes headers and routing data.

I remember practicing a question about link encryption, and I think option C might be the false one because it suggests end-to-end encryption.

I feel like I've seen a question like this before where it emphasized the importance of documentation. Maybe that's why issuing a written warning is the right move?

This is a good test of our understanding of virtual teams. I feel pretty confident I can identify the main advantages, so I'll carefully review the options and select the ones that apply.
