John works as a security manager for SoftTech Inc. He is working with his team on the disaster recovery management plan. One of his team members has a doubt related to the most cost effective DRP testing plan. According to you, which of the following disaster recovery testing plans is the most cost-effective and efficient way to identify areas of overlap in the plan before conducting more demanding training exercises?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

The structured walk-through test is also known as the table-top exercise. In structured walk-through test, the team members walkthrough

the plan to identify and correct weaknesses and how they will respond to the emergency scenarios by stepping in the course of the plan. It is

the most effective and competent way to identify the areas of overlap in the plan before conducting more challenging training exercises.

Answer A is incorrect. In full-scale exercise, the critical systems run at an alternate site.

Answer B is incorrect. The emergency management group and response teams actually perform their emergency response functions by

walking through the test, without actually initiating recovery procedures. But it is not much cost effective.

Answer D is incorrect. It is a test performed when personnel walks through the evacuation route to a designated area where

procedures for accounting for the personnel are tested.

Surprised that evacuation drills aren't the top choice here.

Really? I thought full-scale exercises were more thorough.

I think a walk-through drill is the most cost-effective option.

I vaguely recall that full-scale exercises are usually the most comprehensive but also the most expensive, so I think we should lean towards a less intensive option like the walk-through drill.

I practiced a similar question, and I feel like the evacuation drill is more about physical readiness rather than identifying overlaps in the plan.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think the structured walk-through test could help identify overlaps effectively without the costs of a full-scale exercise.

I remember discussing the different types of DRP tests, and I think a walk-through drill might be the most cost-effective option since it requires less resource allocation.

The Sorted Merge step sounds like the logical choice to me. It's designed specifically for merging sorted data streams, which is exactly what we need to do here.

Interface analysis seems like it could be relevant too, to see if there are any integration problems with other systems.

This seems like a pretty straightforward question. I think the first step would be to identify any changes in the enterprise goals, since that would be the foundation for updating the IT strategic plan.

The key here is to understand what "not a consideration" means. I'll need to analyze each option and identify the one that is not a necessary factor for designing a testable SUT.

I'm a little confused by the difference between the Org-wide app settings and the global app permission policy. I'll need to double-check the details of each option to make sure I select the right one.
