SCENARIO

Please use the following to answer the next question:

ABC Hotel Chain and XYZ Travel Agency are U.S.-based multinational companies. They use an internet-based common platform for collecting and sharing their customer data with each other, in order to integrate their marketing efforts. Additionally, they agree on the data to be stored, how reservations will be booked and confirmed, and who has access to the stored data.

Mike, an EU resident, has booked travel itineraries in the past through XYZ Travel Agency to stay at ABC Hotel Chain's locations. XYZ Travel Agency offers a rewards program that allows customers to sign up to accumulate points that can later be redeemed for free travel. Mike has signed the agreement to be a rewards program member.

Now Mike wants to know what personal information the company holds about him. He sends an email requesting access to his data, in order to exercise what he believes are his data subject rights.

What is the time period in which Mike should receive a response to his request?

What if they can't verify his identity? Does that change anything?

I think it’s 30 days max after he submits the request.

I feel like I’ve seen a similar question before, and it was definitely about a one-month response time, so I’m going with A.

I’m leaning towards D since it mentions “not more than thirty days,” which sounds right, but I’m confused about the wording.

I think the answer is A, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s exactly thirty days or if there’s some leeway.

I remember something about verifying identity, so maybe it’s B? But I feel like that’s only for complicated cases.

I think option A - creating NPSP Levels for the number of donations - could be a good starting point. That would give us a clear way to categorize and track donation patterns. But I'm not sure if that alone would be enough to predict recurring donors. Might need to combine that with another approach.

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure about a couple of these. I'll need to think through each option carefully and eliminate the ones that don't sound right.
