Effective Planning and Scheduling gave me the toughest questions, especially critical path method problems where you must calculate early and late dates by hand. Expect network diagram scenarios that include leads, lags, and overlapping tasks; practice forward and backward pass calculations and be comfortable labeling float so you can spot trick answers quickly.

When I hit the planning section the resource leveling versus resource smoothing scenario threw me off. Drawing quick network diagrams and calculating float on scrap paper helped me pick the most defensible answer on the GAQM PPM-001.

Yeah, that's a solid approach because resource leveling and smoothing trip people up since they sound similar but leveling actually eliminates overallocations while smoothing just tries to smooth the peaks and valleys without extending the timeline, so sketching out those dependencies on paper really forces you to see which scenario applies to the question.

Honestly, the risk module felt tricky because questions blurred mitigation and contingency so I eliminated options that were purely preventive.
