I think B is the right answer. Removing the static routes for the dead port is the best way to maintain network stability. Although, I can't help but wonder if the dead port was caused by a caffeine overdose. Happens to the best of us, am I right?

Maybe the dead port just had a bad day. It happens to the best of us.

I agree, network stability is key. But I doubt a caffeine overdose caused the dead port.

Haha, this question is a real brain-teaser! I'm going to go with C. The administrator should have to manually restore the static routes if port2 comes back up. That's just good old-fashioned troubleshooting, you know?

Yeah, I agree. It's always best to have a manual backup plan in case of unexpected issues.

I think you're right, C does seem like the most logical choice in this situation.

In that case, host 8.8.8.8 should be reachable through both port1 and port2 according to the options provided.

But what if the administrator manually restores the static routes for port2 when it becomes alive?

Hmm, I'm not sure about that. Option D seems like a reasonable answer too, since the exhibits show that the host 8.8.8.8 is reachable through both port1 and port2.

User2: That's a good point. So, it might not automatically switch to port1 if port2 is dead.

User1: I think option D makes sense, since the host is reachable through both ports.

I think the correct answer is B. If port2 is detected as dead, FortiGate should remove all static routes for that port. It's a logical response to ensure the network continues to function properly.

I believe FortiGate removes all static routes for port2 if it is detected dead.

I think the expected behavior is that port2 becomes alive after three successful probes are detected.
