I disagree, the downstream link rate is where it's at. That's the speed the AP is delivering data to the client, and that's what really matters for a good connection.
The channel utilization is also a good factor to consider. If the channel is heavily congested, that can definitely impact the client's connection quality.
Hmm, I'd say the receive signal strength (RSS) of the client at the AP is the best indicator. It directly reflects the quality of the wireless connection.
