Question #: 67
Topic #: 2
[All DCPP-01 Questions]

In India, who among the following would be the authorized legal entities to monitor and intercept communication of individuals?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

India has established privacy regime through a patchwork of legislations and regulations, unlike the European countries that have horizontal privacy laws. The Information Technology Act - IT Act 2000 -- was amended in 2008 to regulate privacy aspects and to provide assurance to customers that their privacy is protected through the use of 'reasonable security practices'. It achieved its purpose to some extent, but it does not satisfy all the requirements and expectations of a comprehensive privacy law. To address this, the Indian government is working on a comprehensive Privacy Protection Bill, which is likely to be based on Justice AP Shah Report, to which DSCI and NASSCOM have contributed as members.

I’m leaning towards C as well, but I wonder if D could be involved in some specific cases. It’s a bit confusing!

I feel like I saw a similar question in our practice tests, and it was about intermediaries. Could it be A?

I'm not entirely sure, but I remember something about Telecom Service Providers having some responsibilities too. Maybe it's B?

I think the answer might be C, the Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies, since they usually have the authority for such actions.

Okay, I've got this. The key is understanding the legal framework for communication monitoring in India. I'm confident option C is the correct answer here.

Ah, this is a tricky one. I remember learning about the IT Act and telecom regulations, so I think the answer is likely B or C. I'll review my notes to be sure.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. I know there are laws around surveillance and interception, but I'm not sure of the specific authorized entities. I'll have to think this through.

This seems like a straightforward legal question. I'll carefully read through the options and think about the relevant laws and agencies in India.

You know, with all this talk about communication interception, I'm starting to feel like I'm in a spy thriller. I'm going to have to go with C on this one – the intelligence and law enforcement agencies are the ones who are keeping an eye on us. I hope they're not listening to my terrible karaoke sessions.

Hmm, interesting question. I'm going to have to go with C on this one. The intelligence and law enforcement agencies are the ones who keep an eye on our digital footprints. I bet they're listening in on our Spotify playlists too, just to make sure we're not listening to any subversive tunes.

Ah, the age-old question of who's watching the watchers. I'll go with C, the intelligence and law enforcement agencies. They're probably listening in on our conversations to make sure we're not planning any surprise parties or something.

Well, this is a tricky one. I'm going to go with B. The telecom service providers definitely have a role to play in communication interception. Maybe they're tapping into our calls for 'quality assurance' purposes or something.
