What is the purpose of a Proxy NAS server?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

The purpose of a Proxy NAS server is to access snapshot replicas on the destination side of a replicated file resource. A Proxy NAS server is a temporary NAS server that is created on the destination system to mount a snapshot replica of a replicated file system. This allows the user to access the data on the snapshot replica for testing, recovery, or other purposes. A Proxy NAS server does not increase performance or security of production NAS servers, nor does it access snapshots for testing production NAS servers.

Wait, I didn’t know it could help with snapshots! That’s interesting.

I thought it was mainly for security, so C makes sense too.

C) Increase security of production NAS servers. Keeping those files safe, one proxy at a time.

Proxy NAS server? Sounds like a fancy way to say "I'm too lazy to walk to the actual NAS server."

I feel like the purpose could also relate to accessing snapshots, but I can't remember if that's specific to Proxy NAS servers or just NAS in general.

This question reminds me of a practice question we did on NAS configurations. I think B is the right answer, but I might be mixing it up with another topic.

I remember something about security features, but I can't recall if that's the main function of a Proxy NAS server.

I think the Proxy NAS server is mainly about improving performance, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the only purpose.

I think the purpose of a Proxy NAS server is to increase security of production NAS servers. That way, you can access the NAS servers through the proxy instead of directly, which could help protect the production systems.

B is definitely a big reason for using a Proxy NAS server.

I'm not entirely sure about this one. The options seem a bit tricky. I'm leaning towards option B, but I'll need to double-check my understanding of Proxy NAS servers before committing to an answer.

I agree, B makes sense. Shared connections need speed!

Okay, I've got it! The purpose of a Proxy NAS server is to increase performance for shared network connections that access NAS servers. Option B seems like the clear answer here.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused on this one. Is the purpose to access snapshot replicas on the destination side of a replicated file resource? Or is it to increase security of production NAS servers? I'll have to think this through more carefully.

I think the purpose of a Proxy NAS server is to increase performance for shared network connections that access NAS servers. That's my best guess based on the options provided.
