Option B - storing the private key on the target server? That's like leaving your house key under the doormat. Not the brightest idea.

D all the way! After all, the private key is like a secret password - you wouldn't want to leave it lying around, would you?

C, because the CPM needs to keep a copy of the private key, but it should be stored securely in the Vault, not on the target server. Basic SSH 101, folks!

D seems the most logical answer. I mean, if you can generate the private key from the public one, why bother storing it anywhere?

Wait, the private key is supposed to be kept private, not stored in the Vault! That's a big no-no in the world of SSH security.

I believe it could also be stored on the target server.
