Confluent CCDAK Exam - Topic 3 Question 65 Discussion

Actual exam question for Confluent's CCDAK exam
Question #: 65
Topic #: 3
[All CCDAK Questions]

How will you set the retention for the topic named my-topic to 1 hour?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

retention.ms can be configured at topic level while creating topic or by altering topic. It shouldn't be set at the broker level (log.retention.ms) as this would impact all the topics in the cluster, not just the one we are interested in

I don't recall seeing anything about producer configs affecting retention. I guess D is out, but I'm still confused about the right answer.

I practiced a similar question, and I feel like consumer configs are more about reading messages, not retention. So, probably not B.

I think the answer is C. The question is specifically about setting the retention for a topic, so modifying the topic config seems like the way to go.

Okay, I've got this. The question is asking about setting the retention for a specific topic, so the answer has to be C - setting the topic config retention.ms to 3600000.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused here. Is it the broker config, consumer config, or topic config that we need to set? I'll have to think this through carefully.

I'm not totally sure about this one. I know we need to set the retention, but I'm not confident which config setting is the right one to use. I'll have to review the Kafka documentation to be sure.

I'm leaning towards option D - it seems to describe a typical pricing strategy where rates are balanced across different member categories.

Option C, easy peasy. I'm starting to think the exam writers are running out of creative ideas. Come on, give us something more challenging!
