A systems administrator is installing Windows on an 8TB drive and would like to create a single 8TB partition on the disk. Which of the following options should the administrator use?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

Scenario:Installing Windows on an 8TB drive, aiming for a single 8TB partition.

Solution:Use theGPT (GUID Partition Table)option (Option C):

GPT supports larger partitions (up to 18.4 million TB) compared to MBR (limited to 2TB).

VMFS, ZFS, and LVM are unrelated to the partitioning scheme in Windows.

ZFS is cool, but not needed for just a single partition.

Wait, can you really make an 8TB partition with GPT? Sounds too easy!

I think LVM could work too, but GPT is more straightforward.

Definitely not MBR, it can't handle that big of a drive.

GPT is the way to go for that size!

I vaguely recall something about LVM being useful, but I don't think it's the primary option for a single partition setup.

I practiced a similar question, and I think GPT is definitely the right choice for modern systems.

I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like MBR might not support an 8TB partition. Wasn't it limited to 2TB?

I remember studying partitioning schemes, and I think GPT is the way to go for larger drives like this one.

I'm leaning towards GPT. That seems like the most straightforward option to create a single 8TB partition on a Windows system.

I'm a bit confused. VMFS and ZFS are more for virtualization and Linux, right? I don't think those would be the right choice for a Windows setup.

Wait, is LVM an option here? I know that can handle large volumes, but I'm not sure if it's the best choice for a basic Windows installation.

Okay, let's see. I'm pretty sure GPT is the way to go for a drive this large. It supports much bigger partition sizes than the older MBR standard.

Hmm, this one's tricky. I'll need to think carefully about the disk partitioning options and which one is best suited for an 8TB single partition.

Ugh, this is giving me trouble. I'm not sure I fully understand what's happening with the string concatenation. I'll need to review the material on string operations before attempting this.

Definitely GPT. Anything else would be a real 'disk-aster' waiting to happen!

Haha, I can just imagine the sysadmin trying to use MBR and running into a wall at 2TB. That would be a real 'partitioning problem'!

Elza: Agreed, GPT or ZFS would be the best options for creating a single 8TB partition.

I second that! GPT is the standard for large drives these days. VMFS and ZFS are more for virtualization and NAS, so they're not the right choice here.

Easy, it's gotta be GPT! MBR can't handle partitions bigger than 2TB, and LVM is more for Linux. GPT is the way to go for an 8TB drive.
