I vaguely recall that 30 ms total is really low for cluster latency, so I doubt that's correct.

This seems like a tricky one, but I think I can figure it out. Updating the Vscan servers one at a time and modifying the CIFS shares to be continuously available seem like good options to prevent the issue.
