I was about to choose DHCP too, Effie. But DNS does seem like the more appropriate answer here. Though I have to admit, I'm a bit rusty on my networking protocols.

Hmm, I was thinking it might be DHCP, since that's the protocol that assigns IP addresses to devices on a network. But now that you both mention DNS, that makes more sense.

Yeah, I agree with Salena. DNS is the distributed database that handles that kind of hostname-to-IP mapping. The other options don't really seem to fit the question.
