In a retail firm's implementation of vendor-managed inventory (VMI), what trading partners are responsible for setting target inventory levels and making restocking decisions?
A) Retail consumers and vendors? Well, I guess the consumers could just go down to the store and restock the shelves themselves. That's one way to do it!

C) Retailer and its buyers? Nah, that's not how VMI works. The buyers are usually the ones who get replaced by the supplier's inventory management in a VMI system.
D) Retail consumers and retailers? Really? That's just plain wrong. Consumers don't have a say in inventory levels, and the retailer doesn't make decisions by themselves in a VMI setup.
I agree, B) is the right answer. The whole point of VMI is to have the supplier take responsibility for inventory management, not the consumers or the retailer's internal buyers.
I agree with Catina, because the retailer and its suppliers are the ones responsible for setting target inventory levels and making restocking decisions in VMI.
B) Retailer and its suppliers seems like the correct answer. In a VMI system, the retailer and its suppliers work together to manage inventory levels and replenishment.
