Wait, is this a trick question? I'm tempted to go with the top-to-bottom option, just to spice things up a bit. Maybe I'll get bonus points for thinking outside the box. Or maybe I'll just get a failing grade. *shrugs*
I'm going with option B. Front-to-back. It just makes sense, you know? The air needs to flow in the same direction as the components are laid out. Anything else would be like trying to swim upstream.
The front-to-back airflow seems like the obvious choice for cooling servers. I mean, why would you want the air to go side-to-side or back-to-front? That just sounds like a recipe for disaster.
