Option B is just silly. Content stores can't only be encrypted upon creation - that would defeat the whole purpose of enabling encryption later on. What is this, the 90s?

D has got to be the answer. Existing content becomes inaccessible, and only new content will be encrypted. That's how encryption usually works, right?

Option C seems more likely. New content will be encrypted, but existing content will remain unencrypted. Encryption can't be retroactively applied to already stored data.
