I wonder if the merchant has tried turning off the coffee machine in the office. That might speed up the build process just as much as disabling minification. Jokes aside, the two correct consequences are the larger file size and the longer build time.

The deploy phase won't be shorter if we turn off minification, that's just wishful thinking. In fact, the build phase will be longer because we'll need an additional step to merge the JavaScript files. This question is trying to trick us.

Turning off JavaScript minification will increase the file size of the deploy artifact, which means larger JavaScript files have to be downloaded, leading to slower browsing for customers. That's definitely a consequence I would expect.
