I disagree, I believe option B is the correct approach. Modifying the Section metadata seems more appropriate.

Option A could work, but I think it's overkill. Why add a plugin to the entire ProductDataProvider when we just need to modify the AdvancedInventory section?

I'm not sure about that. Wouldn't it be better to use the product_form.xml approach in option D? That seems more flexible and maintainable to me.

Option B seems like the way to go. Modifying the AdvancedInventory data provider is the most direct approach to adding the notice field.
